How to choose a guardian

Key factors to consider when selecting a guardian:

  • Relationship with your children: How well do they know and interact with your children?

  • Stability and values: Do they have a stable lifestyle and share your values regarding parenting and upbringing?

  • Financial stability: Can they afford to provide for your children's basic needs, including food, shelter, and education?

  • Age and health: Are they physically and mentally capable of raising your children long-term?

  • Location: Where do they live, and is it a suitable environment for your children?

  • Parenting style: Do you agree with their approach to discipline and child-rearing?

  • Willingness to take on the role: Have you openly discussed the responsibility of being a guardian with them?
